Gold Rush.

A playable reconstruction of one of the first games I wrote in BASIC on an Apple II, around 1986. Collect every dollar sign, survive the buzzing killer, then escape.

Recovered rule set

A small program remembered through its behaviour.

The original source is gone. What remains is the game’s compact logic: an ASCII robber, fixed dollar signs, arrow-key movement, and a killer represented by a buzzing asterisk. This version keeps that memory spare and legible rather than turning it into a modern arcade game.
